Here is what I picked up recently. It is really a 520 labled as an Alpina. It was brought over from Germany in 1991. Sorry for the crappy pic. Oh yeah that is the original color and paint.

"Labeled as an Alpina?" Do you know what you have there?

I see an E12 every time i walk outside my house!!!

They are a ton of fun to have and to drive

until the frame rots and the clutch starts to go... otherwise one of the most fun cars i have ever had, truely a Battle Cruiser! and it handles the road way better then a 29 year old 4500 lb car ever should!

Those wheels are extremely rare!!!! My rents had a 1978 Graphite 530i. I loved that cae. But my dad totalled it one night coming home in the rain up my twisty road on the way to our house. That car was a fucking tank.

Yup, the car belongs to some guy named Walt who has it posted in the Footnotes classifieds as well. I inquired on the car as a possible DD, but it sounds like it may have some slight rust (not a problem for a dedicated E12 lover, but an issue for a student who can barely contend with his own E30 rust issues :D.) Last I saw, his asking price was something like $1700. It has euro bumpers and Ronal Turbos and he claims that he has performed some recent maintenance. A good price for a car that will outlive your child's child's child.
