Redefining "E28".

It's not a cry for attention.. I just figured I'd do something different that hasn't been done. At some point i'll get tired of it, put my old hood back on, and be back to the good 'ol days.

Trying new stuff is how the whole aftermarket operates. I give you e-props for trying new ideas. Hell, look at how many e30's have yellow high beams now, after all the bitching about my "piss cups" 4 years ago.

Spastic, you should realize that your E28 is already such a different car from the normal crap out there, and rock it like that. Honestly even if you kept the roof rack and just put the real hood back on there, it would really make that car sharp. Not a "I try to stand out and attract attention with a rusted hood" sharp, but a "hot -damn that's a sweet E28 that really has a great look to it" sharp.

Stop using the excuse of "close-mindedness" please. I am very open to new things, but a rusted hood is nothing new. Maybe on a BMW, but in any case, it just doesn't flow with what the car is. No, BMW's aren't "God's Chariots" but they certainly are different on their own respect.

Cliff Notes:
Wheels look amazing, car looks wonderful, and then out of the blue there is a rusted hood that just sticks out. Humor me and try putting the hood back on for one day, take some pics again, and I guarantee you that it will just work.

Final thought:
Props for being doing something a bit different, and again, holyshit those wheels are amazing, the hood doesn't work.

Ah, thank you, my grammar skills are clearly suffering. :roll: I frequent MyE28 every now and then and I'm usually impressed with what I see. Spastic's car started out like a nice E28 soon to get a euro bumper conversion, and now it just takes a turn for the worst.

Why does it seem poseurish? Because it's a look pioneered by the Volkswagen guys who had crappy looking cars, dumped them, and threw on a roof rack to divert attention away from the crappy looking body.

Maybe I should go to MyE28, who knows, that look may be popular.

Obviously people on here don't know what a rat rod is. An E28 will never be rat. Take your car to a rat rod gathering and see how hard they laugh at ya :D

If he cuts his floorpan out and replaces it with a stop sign or two, I'll give him props.

I like everything but the hood. The whole front end would also look a lot better if your bumpers were actually straight. Maybe shave the bump strip slots as well.
