Thanks, I was going to ask if you were a shriner/traveler.

Is that an OEM mud guard?

Ha, I'd remove the shriner badge, but I think it might pull off some of the clear coat. I'll eventually throw on a plate filler to cover it up.

Yup, they're factory mud flaps. Highly sought after by some. They'll be up for sale once I get some euro bumpers.

bavauto sells the fronts, brand new. im still looking for the rears though.

EBAY only has the offbrand ones right now. meaning, no "BMW" on it. which wouldnt be a problem. but i would like the rears to match the fronts i already have. im waiting to get the rears before i install them.

these are simple universal mudguards ($7 at any auto store), I cut them to fit better, they are small enough not to interfere but big enough to protect the paint from stones and other debris kicked by the tires

I don't know if you can see, but the VW has the same style mudguards in teh front

Those are great, I'm getting a set for sure. The leading edge of my grafted-on rear valance is pummeled, and I'm sure the same fate will await my skirts.

And BTW, drop that cabby about another 2 inches, and it will be absolutely perfect.
