Nope, never had a problem with it.

Hard wiring is something I hope to do in the near future.

Well there are a couple reasons why I like it close to my face. I use the area down there to put stuff while I'm driving, my phone for example. I also want to have the road in my peripheral and on the same plane as what I'm looking at.
