i bought mine much needed repairs and a new steering wheel :) its getting lowered more too along with all new trim paint a detail and new mirrors :) im pretty excited. oh and new wheels as soon as they come in..

i got clothes and giftcards [for clothing stores] that i have to use.
cash woulda been used in a wiser way you know.

i had the wheels off the car. did two at a time. with the tires on.
didn't want to mask the proper way. just took thick enough paper to mask one direction at a time. [imagine the paper forming a half circle and i am spraying towards the paper while it sheilds it from spraying onto the tires.

did gray primer, two coats. then aluminum silver, which is like thin metal flake, did two coats also. i still haven't clearcoated them, didn't have enough time. but i will do clear when i get the sun again.

Did you sand them down by chance?

the trick is to e-mail a list and where to get each thing on your list. I tried it for the first time this year and as you can see, it worked like a charm ;)

how long did you let the coats of primer and paint sit?

nope. just cleaned them really good with carb cleaner, degreaser, and with a wire brush. the surface was flat and smooth. i did two wheels at a time. so after i primered one i would do the other. when it was time for the second coat, the other wheel has already dried. just make sure there's a sun for quicker drying.
