        Yeah... right now I'm using a manfrotto light stand (one of the large steel ones) with the legs taken off, but as I said it weighs a good 15lbs or so I'd say. When you say 8 feet, do you mean 8 feet extended off the car? Or 8 feet including what is over the car and used by clamps? (I hope that makes sense.)

          8 feet off would be awesome, but it would be more like 5-6 feet off the car, but everything is relative to the size of the car. obviously if it's a 7 you want more like 10 feet off the car.
