The funny thing was leaving Chicago it was cold and the car intermittently wanted to cut out on me, but I couldn't figure out why. Then it ran fine. The fan motor only worked on high since it had a bad resistor, so I'd turn on the heat for short periods until we got far enough south that it was warm. Then on the return trip (New Year's Day) we were in Kentucky and it got so bad the check engine light came on. Took it to Sam Swope BMW in Louisville, but they found nothing, said I probably got some shitty gas and gave me some free fuel treatment and sent me on my way and didn't charge me a dime--nice boys there! Then in Indiana my wife realized it only happened when the heater was on and sure enough, that goddamn resistor created enough current draw to affect the engine electronics. Having your wife diagnose the problem is pretty embarrassing I must say...
I'm driving it to the BMW CCA Oktoberfest at Road Atlanta this fall also. Really looking forward to taking out on the track for some REAL driving!
BTW, if you happen to go to Global Imports in Atlanta, I met the Parts Manager Jon Allen and he's an E30 nut. Brought out photos of his cars and all that. Good guy.
Hell Yeah!! Great job wife.. I was going to say AFM from going to very cold to very warm, but she's even better than me!!

John is the man. I've known him for quite some time (he hooks me up A LOT; Thanks John!). You should see his hennarot '83 e30. It is amazing! He should be at Octoberfest along with the rest of us.. He's building out a badass M10 (all I can say is side draft carbs).

Cheers!! Hope you had a good time in Atlanta..

No.. I think he hangs out on bimmer. He also has an e36 M3 (it's great hearing him bitch about it; he hates e36's newew BMW's). He just drives the e36 as a DD.

Good for Jon. I sold my wife's E36 for a lot more than it was worth and "traded up" to another E30. Good riddance crappy plastic shit squeaky interior.

Damn nice car dillsnick--want mine to look like that except w/skirts, is lip & M Tech rear apron. Oh and Ronal LS's. BTW what flavor are the silver weaves in your photos?

Thought I'd update this with a photo of the Ronals and G-Force Sports mounted. I had to drive to Nashville to pick these up, and I'm sure some think that's crazy, but glad I did. Turns out the seller had moved from the Chicago area and knew my friend Ben too!

Gotta get that is lip out of the box and painted and mounted now...

Thanks a lot. Now I just need to find an M3 rear seat to match the fronts!

I think Dan has one local. But gray I think, I wonder if you could strip it and redye it using leatherique, their stuff is good but not sure how it would work.

                          Coming along nicely.

Thanks--I use their leather cleaner & rejuvenating oil and really like it, but I've heard mixed reviews on their dye, so I'll keep looking for a matching one.

Just finished installing my bumper, valance and "is" lip after the paint work I did on it. Came out pretty well and I'm happy with it until I can afford to get the whole car resprayed and clear coated. I was worried that it might not have dried thoroughly since I just sprayed everything yesterday morning since I wanted to get it done before Vintagefest tomorrow, but the hardener must have worked well.
