Miata owners are freaks of nature, Volvo owners are freaks as well, don't forget about old school Toyota owners, and of course Datsun owners.

If you are referring to modern cars I would agree with you that I can't see anything out right now that will have a cult following decades down the road. Modern cars just lack the soul that the older models had. They are lifeless shells that are too heavy, too dependent on techonology, and too quiet to be true drivers cars.

What made me think about it is the fact that he was the original owner of the car. my parents get new cars every 6 or 7 months and not one of them would ever hold up. I think that the e39 may stand the test of time, but e30 and even the old 2002 where the last of a legendary breed.

I'd think there are many other cars out there with a larger cult following, or original owners. My car is still 1 owner, but I'd think there are countless old 'Vettes and 240Z's with the same deal.

Those are Ronals, they've got the dish. :)

I'd never seen Ronals on a black e30, damn that's hot. Your ride is amazing.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

its amazing at what decent wheels and a little lowering will do to the looks of an e30. Cant wait to lower mine.

There are no cars built today that will still be around n the condition and admiration that the e30 has. Old vettes are cool, but a girl I know has had a 98 for a couple years and she calls it her beater, I do not think that any vette of today will be around for twenty years.

Thanks for the compliments. Looking forward to meet more e30 owners in addition to e9nine and 318driver. For those who are not familiar with this particular car, I kept the car in my parents' garage after I moved from California to NYC and the car just sat there for about 10 years. After my parents sold their home, I got the "come and get it or we'll get rid of it" phone call. I shipped the car to Koalamotorsport in Ohio, where it got a new timing belt/water pump, valve adjustment, all new fluids/belts & hoses, R134 AC conversion, new springs, shocks, wheels, tires, new radiator, UUC shortshifter, etc. etc. I spent more $$ than the car's worth but it's worth it to me. After a thorough detail job, the car looked almost like the day it came home 16yrs ago. I know there are countless cars out there that are faster and handle better but I still look forward to days that I get to take my car out for a little ride. Since I work in the city I only drive the car on weekends, which is just fine because NJ insurance rates are ridiculous.

Thanks again to everyone who helped answering many technical questions I had along the way...

                  hey nice looking 88.

yup its true, all i've done is lower my car and put a cheap set of wheels and it changed the look so much.

I feel it changed how the car looked, and did so little.
