    My first e30!

Been in the market for an e30 for awhile now but moneys been tight so it was difficult to find a car within my budget. Somehow lucked out and found an '85 325 sittin on some back roads about 10 miles from my house. Picked it up today for $200 but the interesting part was getting it home.

I had a tow lined up for this morning from a friend. He was gonna bring his trailer and it would be an easy ride but shit came up and he ended up bailing on me. I called the local garage to get a quote and they wanted $65 for a 10 mile tow and myself being the cheap bastard I am decided I'd just tow it with my Civic. Ghetto rigged some towlines and had my buddy pull me home while I rode in the e30 with barely any brakes. :( After about an hour of close calls and struggling up the mountains in my area we finally got it in the garage! Should be a good base for a project. All it needs is a new fuel filter, and a battery to get it started and it's a solid body with the usual NE surface rust.

You can see my tow truck in the background ;-)

Shit picture quality. My camera broke a few days ago and this is all I could get a hold of

time for some tlc. to bad it is a automatic... i say start from the inside and work your way out. just strip the interior out and clean everything. rewire speakers for a new head unit while your at it. i have to do the same thing. it is the only way to get a new head unit to work in an early e30... then some engine bay clean up, shadow line the trim, bumper tuck, and maybe paint the kidneys. it will look sick.

Eventually I plan on throwing an M30 in with a 5-speed but I couldn't really be upset about it with the $200 price tag.

You're lucky man!, my nephew picked up a pyle of shit much worse than what you're showing us for 2k in payments from a friend of his. That shit has so much rust, dents and non working parts that the junk yards will only pay $200 and he has to drive it there..................lol

                  Nice start.

As far as I'm concerned, that's a good deal. I mean, yeah, the interior needs to be replaced, but you'd probably want to do that anyway, so you don't lose much there. Hope the engine is actually sound after filter replacements

I picked the car up for a project to keep me busy. My father has had a passion for cars his whole life and has always loved working on them so I decided that $200 was a small price to pay for a quality father/son project :D and, hey, even if it ends up being more of a problem than I previously thought I can always just part it and make more than I paid for it haha
