New here. Working on the 2nd e30

Hey guys, my name is Trey (username backwards). I have usually been over on the tech, but see that this place better suits my interests.
I had a 1990 325is that was just horrid. I bought it with an early "is" front lip, m3 side-grills, e36 rear bumper, and bondo everywhere. pics:
    from this-

    to this-

I sold this in December, and bought an e36 325i. My family has had 2 e36's in the past, and I wanted to see what they were like. In short, I hate it. I did the best I could while I have had it (m3 bumpers, bavauto suspension, detail, etc), but it's time to move on. Currently for sale.
    before-

    after-

Now my current e30. I bought this car with an overheating problem for $750. Turned out the head gasket blew. I tried tackling that, but 3 days after I finished, it blew yet again. Now I am just going to do an m30 swap to it and call it a day.

Except for the lack of skirts and the M3 grilles that first one doesn't look too bad.

Sup Trey! I haven't posted on SEA in ages. How goes it? And I didn't even know you took the E36 plunge and already are back to E30's lol.

I was curious what your first car would have looked like with a few things changed. The is spoiler with plastics bumpers doesn't look half bad

well, I changed the front end on the 1st e30 because I hit a wall trying to avoid an accident. Also, it had a bondo'd antenna (fake) as well as wavy side trim bondo.

I am going M30 because of a few reasons. I did help out with xlr8rbob's m30 swap and is a good reason for me doing this. I also hate the m/s5x. I know it's a strong word, but after having an nvm50 with the e36, I can't see putting it in an e30. Also, I do like m20's, but after taking this one apart and previously owning an m20 with full bolt ons, I was not impressed. I can get a killer deal on motor and trans so why not? 200hp with a chip and decent flywheel/clutch setup? Yes please!

Thanks for all the welcomes. I look forward to building this car up. I am somewhat known for a quick change in the way my cars look. I will keep you all updated!

so are you basing your dislike of the m50/s50 family from your experience with a non-vanos m50 in an e36? that like saying you hate sex because you've only fucked a 250 lb woman.
