Bead lock rims
welcome back!
Love the path you took with the GC. Last we heard you were looking at other rims that werent so....... utilitarian. 8)
Nice. I ventured away from the e30 for a while as well. I have a 93 ZJ with 6-7" of lift, 35's, locked in the rear, blah blah..but i wish I had that front bumper
I dont understand what about them is a pile of shit. The motor is damn bullettproof if you have the 4.0, they'll hang with just about anything off road and theyre cheap. But yeah im real happy with mine
The ZJ's are good, the newer WJ models lost a lot of what made the Grand Cherokee a "Jeep". The WJ became more of a jacked up station wagon instead of a Jeep.
Every grand, actually, every jeep i've worked, and thats been a lot, has been quite the POS, at least compared to the other trucks i've worked on (toyota, rover, etc)
Mechanically their really not bad, the 4.0 is bulletproof and they're very easy to work on. The build quality is, well, dodge in the early 90's, no need to say anything more. But for what I use it for I am very happy with it. My dad has a 2001 Discovery that we are lifting this summer, I cant wait to see how it works out. I plan on building a trail rig discovery when I get out of college
I just bought a '96 XJ for a daily beater. Nothing special, 2wd 4.0L 4dr, but its in perfect condition and actually scoots along pretty well for a mid '90s SUV. Now I have 2 cars that need stroker kits. ;)

What kind of lift do you have? Looks like a Rubicon 4.5
It is actually a Explorer ProComp 4 inch lift with a double set of spacers. (7-8" total lift) I already got the parts for a long arm lift and full springs. That will put my axles back where they belong (centered in the wells).
