Did it come with the volvo lip?

Not to newb it up in here but what's the difference between a regular M20 and a metric mechanic motor?

No the volvo lip was me. I just put it on to trash the hell out of it. I have an is lip in the garage but would rather not destroy it. At least not until the car gets re-painted.

The difference between the engines are just about every internal item.

What I paid? Too much. LOL But if you must know $4400 for the thing. A friend of mine owned the car, paid for the engine and all then moved to a place with snow, therefore, selling it to yours truly.

But considering their cheapest m20 is 7k plus a 2k differential, I don't feel so bad about it. It only had about 12k on the engine when i bought it.

Such as? Bored out, lighter con rods, stiffer valve springs? I'm just curious as it's the second MM motor I've come across in the past month, one here, one in person. Did BMW manufacture them or are they from another company?

I like the volvo lip, nothing wrong with cheap thrills.

Metric mechanic is a company in missouri. BMW did not manufacture these. Here's their site. And yes they bore it out, lighter/stronger rods, stiffer springs, the entire shibang. They make them to run fast and forever while being very reliable.

Thanks for all the comments guys.
