Just dont judge an e30 bassed on an ETA, drive an IS before you go looking at scubies.

This is very true. I had an '86 ETA when I was 16 and I hated it after about 2 months. I assumed that the M20 was a complete lump. I then ended up wasting a lot of money on a 6 year old e36. I bought an IX about 2 years ago and realized that the m20b25 motor really wasn't all that bad. If only I had driven the later model e30 back then, I would have saved a lot of money.

i went to pick a part.got an air box and we are going back to get a fender and hood. found an e30 the same color, ill be flushing the brakes this weekend, the pads are good but need new rotors. its going to be a slow project becuase she has a tight budget, we found this great stuff to clean the carpet.its called Folex, its going to be a point A to point B car so its going to stay mostly stock. if i get an e30 i am going to mod it for autox and track days

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

Good lookin starter! You'll have a lot of work on your hands but it'll be really worth it in the end. Definitely check out the m20 engine (325i/is) it's a great engine mine has about 275k on it without any need for a rebuild and she runs great!

The gap between a chipped eta and an IX is pretty minimal... even a stock eta isnt a whole lot slower, just power in different areas

well they were asking 950. i took it for a test drive, told my sister to say 600 but another buyer came to look at it. my sister really wanted it so she gave the owners 800. after we got the papper work we seen that the people we were buying it from got it for 325$ :/
