    My 318is

I'm new to r3v but I've been an e30 fan for a while now. The last one that I had met an untimely demise at the hands (or bumpers) of a Dodge Ram and a Honda Civic. I drive an e36 [GASP!] now but as soon as I can I'm headed back to e30-land. Anyway, here's a few before and after shots of my 318is.

    Some details first:
    '91 318is - Diamantschwartz Metallic
    Very lightly modded
    - Cold Air intake, Conforti Chip, and a few other tiny bits here and there.

These are pretty old pics. Shortly after these were taken I picked up some Voxx MGRs, some Hella lowbeams with PIAA Xtreme Whites, Bav Auto front splitters, OEM fog lights, and smoked turn signal and side marker lenses.

And here's a few pics of the aftermath. Two days after I took these pics, my H&R springs showed up in the mail. Talk about bad timing!

Bad timing is waiting 6 months for smoked rear taillights to come in from EUrope (back when you couldnt get them here in the states) and then 2 weeks after they show up you get rear-ended in your first accident ever. Welcome!!

It was a 7 car pile-up so a few people went to the hospital. Nothing major though. I was the only one in my car and save for some back pain I was alright.

As for the car, I already got rid of it. A friend of mine had just bought a Diamantschwarz 318is that was in pretty bad shape so he combined my car and his to make one good one.

If you're looking for an e36 M3 now's the time to buy. There are some amazing deals on them right now, at least in my area (Washington).

I like the e36 but it's just not as fun as the e30s are. It's bigger, heavier, and squishier and it doesn't feel as attached to the road as an e30 does. It's got lots of power though!

          Here's a pic of my current 328is next to my dad's 635csi.

The guy who bought my E30 back in 2005 sold the smoked MHW tails, side repeaters and front lenses off for $AUD50 (about $25 American), less than 12 months after I'd paid in excess of $AUD800 buying them from Germany. He also wrote the car off shortly after that (&&$F F&(*&*&&!!!!!!!onejuan)

Thanks! I still maintain that e30s have better driving dynamics (and build quality) but the 328 does put a smile on my face every time I see it. e36 coupes are damned good looking imo. That doesn't mean I won't sell it and buy another e30 as soon as I get the chance though!

I don't have any more pics but I can give you some details.

It's an '87 635csi, Zinoberrot with tan interior. It's got Dinan exhaust, a Dinan chip, Dinan floor mats (lol), Bilstein shocks and H&R springs, 17x8 BMW Style 5 cross-spokes off of an e39, and a few other bits. It's got something like 70k on it and the thing is absolutely spotless, inside and out.
