That's a very NICE pic. what would you rate your procession through that turn 8/10ths?

Thanks everyone! Glad you like the pic as much as I do :D

Yes it's a fast right hand turn - at the point on the track where the pic was taken, the gas pedal was floored while I was sliding her to the right at around 5000rpm in 3rd (or trying to slide her at least - she understeers there with the current suspension setup.)

The wheels are indeed Kosei K1's in 15x7. They're cheap and light and strong so why not? Cosmetically it's not my first choice wheel for an E30 but I've had 5 sets on 4 different cars in the last few years so I've grown to like the look of 'em:

Anyway, a friend sent me the pic and I really liked it so i thought I would share :D

            Thanks,

            Jon

Thanks! Hard to say because I don't know exactly which lap the pic was taken during, but definitely at least 8/10ths because I've been going to that track every few months for five or six years now and I feel like I know it pretty well.

A couple of times I came screaming through there and tracked-out well onto the rumble strips at corner exit, which I would classify at damn near 10/10ths attacks on that particular turn, but near the apex where that pic was taken it's definitely hard to tell.

Then again, the car was understeering that weekend so I guess none of my visits to turn 10 were really balls-out (it takes an oversteering car to come through there crazy fast, understeer scrubs too much speed off... for those unfamiliar with Summit Point, turn 10 leads onto the very lengthy front straight so every mph of corner exit pays off quite nicely...) :D

PS- the body roll in the pic is killing me. My back-ordered H&R Race springs will be here shortly, and big swaybars will be here soon also, so no more of that!

And a last addition to the Girls on E30s thread.....

Awesome. Can you send a link to the NASA racing rules? You mentioned it in the 4.10 thread.

Haha, that's my cute friend Katy, and I have WAY better pics of her than those

Link to NASA Spec E30 rules as requested:

Not sure of any impending changes for next season other than they're going to run on Toyo RA-1's instead of Kumhos.

My car's getting there one mod at a time - the big winter project will be the rollcage!

This series is fairly new (10? cars in the mid atlantic and growing fast) but it's low budget and big fun. What a seriously great group of racers... all about close competition without contact between cars, and so willing to help their competitors in any way possible. More laid back than SCCA, cheaper than BMWCCA, etc. After 5 years of track days I absolutely cannot wait to get out there and go roadracing with the Spec E30 crew!

With a change of majors and career expectations, track events and later racing will be an important and significant part of my "education" and experience.....so I was peeking at different opportunities. So in your opinion better than SCCA or BMWCCA?

Any midwest action you know of? And would Ground Control coilovers be permitted? I couldn't really pull from the suspension regulations.....? Of course, that question probably doesn't matter as I should likely just buy a prepped car instead of build one....I dunno.

Bronzit I'd say. Too light to be Luxor.
