I congratulate you on saving this car, and in the process putting the proper S14 drivetrain back in it. The car looks superb!
How long did this process take from beginning to end?
The Whole process has taken about 2 years, and there is still the interior to do and the little stuff here and there. A horder in San Diego had the car before, apparently he had about 15 e30 M3s in various conditions( most of them repairable) , and when he died, all the cars where sold to Autobahn Parts in El Cajon, for parts. I remember walking thru Autobahn like a kid in a candy store of M3 heaven.
waaaaaa, where is that garage at? 2 e30 M3s and a MTech II cabrio? i want
i was in this garage 2 weeks ago. its disgusting. theres a 88 is in there also that isnt shown in the pics. along with a full tech2 kit and a m cloth interior to go along with it. it is the bat cave though, so ive been sworn to not disclose its location.
The Black one has 133,336 miles on the chassis and 140,000 miles on the motor before the rebuild. The Red Rat Rod only has 116,000 original miles- it sat outside for about 13 years in storage-runs like a champ!!
Thanks everyone for your comments!! I felt the same way when I got it. Lots of folks where telling me to sell the s14 before the build and drop a s52 in it, but I wanted it to feel new and stock just like it did 19 years ago. Well worth the work to get it back from the dead.
