I am considering this as well. Im assuming it would look pretty good.

CorvallisBMW has it done. Look him up. I will be doing this when it warms up too.

ha I did this yesterday to mine. it looks good! My SLR is in storage, fiance is out of town with the p&s. She'll be back on Sunday night, I'll take some pics monday for you. The trim was really easy to remove, toughest piece is the long door trim. You need to remove the side mirror, which takes 15 seconds. Pop off the tweeter pod, 2 8mm bolts. Careful with the mirror against the door when it's unbolted and as you work right under it removing the trim. Oh, and be gentle with the trim on the top cover...it uses plastic clips instead of metal like the rest. I did the whole car without any broken tabs or damaged chrome...pretty simple.

DON't do it on your car. euro bumpers are chrome and the coolest thing about euro bumpers is that the co-exist with the chrome mouldings!

that looks really good but dam what a bitch it must be do go around the back seats! looks nice, BUT i totally agree about the chrome moldings and bumpers looking hot togather.

what ever happen to that Plastic-coat thread?
atleast that stuff is removable if you decide to change your mind.

It's super easy to do. All the moldings just pop off with a firm pull. Then shoot it with 1-2 coats of a self-etching primer and 2-3 coats of SEM trim paint.

^^^ Do you need to remove the chrome from the trim. Or its not that big of deal.

You can't 'remove' the chrome from the trim. They're the same thing. Just paint over it like I said above.

I used a boeing tool (if you know what that is) and a rag to start it, then my hands...panel popper if you have one, flathead might scratch something...put a rag on it if you must.
