New Member - Intro of my 325e

Just got my membership straightened out here and wanted to post an intro...

Got the eta about a year ago to drive and have some fun with when I don't have to haul my kiddo's anywhere - got 2 under 3 years old - and this '85 325e has certainly met those needs...clocks in at 193k on the broken odometer.

Have all the receipts back to when the eta was bought new in Nothern VA when new...so, I knew when timing belt was last changed and the actual mileage isn't much more than when the odo crapped out.

Good news is that it's a solid ride, little if any rust, and runs well. Was resprayed from the pinstripe up and it was a pretty crummy job - flaking paint in the corners and would have been happier with the original patina all the way around.

So far have done all the basics - belts, hoses, timing belt, water pump, cam seals, guibo, fluids, etc.

Picked up some basics that are waiting to go in - US Ellips, MTech 1 Wheel, ECU w/ Jim C chip...

Got a spare cluster to fix the broken odo...

Working out details to get a set of Euro Bumpers and front valence - Diving boards be gone. Also on the list a suspension upgrade - replace all the bushings, etc and set her down on a set of Billies and H&R Sports.

Here are a few shots of the eta along with 2 other rides that I am interested in - my Dad's '60 Vette that he bought back in '62 and my Father-in-law's '65 Impala SS...

    Thanks.
    Randy

Color is Arctic Blue w/ Pearl Beige "leatherette" interior...

Interior is in pretty good shape - typical issues though - single, long crack in the dash, crack in the drivers seat bottom.

I'll get a shot of the radio - it's a Blaupunkt Malibu CR 42 - has a casette deck. Looks like from my stack of receipts that the original owner got it installed in the early 90's...

            Thanks.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that a guy here in NC would be interested if you would like to part with that car. He's been looking for an Arctic blue car for a while..

Yeah...who wouldn't want a bubble top '62 409, eh? The later years w/ the 427 weren't too bad either though, IMO.

But, beggers can't be choosers...F-in-L's Dad bought the '65 SS new and my F-in-L dragged it back in the 70's / 80's in the Pittsburgh area...won his class a few times at the old Pittsburgh International Dragway...sadly he passed away almost 2 years ago...the beast is too damn big to fit in my garage here in VA though...but it's ready to roll any time I am back in the Burgh...Has a 327 w/ a Holley 650 double pumper, headers, 2-1/2" exhaust, flowmasters, Hurst T-handle, Muncie M-20...it really rips for being such a huge car...

You'll have to pry to keys from my cold dead fingers...that Vette isn't going anywhere...Dad bought it used back in '62 when he was 23, drove it everyday in Pittsburgh winters, parked it all around the Pitt campus when he was in night school...it's a good 20 ft car - pretty much all original paint and chrome, numbers matching drivetrain...nice car to take a Sunday drive in with the top off...had a mechanical resto done on it about 16 years ago, been running great ever since.

                      Thanks for the comments...
