Cool project. It's going to go way over budget, but it'll be fun.
And yea, get a wideband. It will absolutely be necessary. What about other gauges? I've got an old 2 1/16" VDO 0-15psi boost gauge I can send you for $15 shipped. Exhaust? Clutch?
I've got a huge turbo writeup on e30tech that has a section on tuning an AFM/RRFPR setup.

Exhaust, a local e30 guy here, golde30, told me he has a complete exhaust for me, from the downpipe all the way to a ss muffler.
clutch, leaving it stock for now, once I get the car to a little higher psi I have a line on a new clutch, a little better than oem.Last edited by Rodoni; 05-18-2009, 11:42 AM.***Affordable Powder Coating Here:***

Please make sure to include pictures of an e30 turbo project in its natural habitat: non-running in an apartment parking lot.

BSFC is .6 to .65 for a turbo car, use 80-85% duty cycle to be safe. You will find from the calculations that 19lbs are good for about 180hp at the flywheel.
EDIT:
Let me rephrase this. Those injectors are too small for your power goals, but that turbo is way too small as well. U r going to make torque with the turbo but not any horsepower, so the injectors might be right for what u have right now, but for your power goal u need a larger turbo and new injectors. If you don't know what BSFC means without looking it up or what its effect is or how it changes then take some more time and research before you strip your car apart. It will work out better in the end. Good luck.Last edited by project86; 04-14-2009, 04:54 PM.Comment
