    New to the Bimmer world

Hey folks, new to the forum and I just purchased my first Bimmer. It is a 87 325es with 113k miles. I think it is in really good condition but has it's bumps and bruises as expected. I thought I would just drive it the way it is but, I can't drive anything slow except my Tacoma.
So, I lurked here and a few other places and set out on my search. Facebook Marketplace is good place to buy stuff from people that either don't know what they have or, are in need of $$. Through this avenue, I bought some new HR sport springs for $200 shipped. I found and m52 stroker with s52 cams, s50 intake, wiring harness, 5sp transmission, short throw shifter and all engine accessories for $700. I purchased some new(not FB) Alpina 16x7 replicas to put on the car for ~$900.

Mechanically, I will try to bring everything back up to new oem or better. Brakes, bushings, suspension, tires, clutch, motor, etc. before I get it on the road.

Ultimately, I want to have an Alpina B6 restomod that I can daily and take to the track.

I have always been a fan of euro cars and my background is solely in the Scandinavian builds. I have owned 7 Volvos of the p80 variety. V70R and T5s were my fix then.....they are fun but, I do not want another turbo car.

So far, I have about $4k invested in this new project. I will lean on this place for advice as my build progresses.

Couple of concerns right now. I noticed that I am gonna have a tight fit since I want to run AC on this car.
I am looking for a radiator. I thought I saw that an offset mounting radiator somewhere but can't seem to find it. ANybody know of this? Does it do what I think it will do?
Also, a DME. What is this? Where do I get my hands on one?

Enough of that, here are some pics(no porn)

Judging by your username you're in the south? I think the offset radiator you're talking about is an m42 radiator potentially? This has a mounted coolant reservoir, which is appealing, but also has less cooling capacity than an m20 or e36 6 cylinder radiator and won't be ideal if you're planning on running AC. There are a few common fan/radiator combos out there, but A/C will complicate those decisions slightly. It's been done quite a few times though, searching "24V A/C" should get you the info you need in addition to the normal 24V swap guides

E30 DOHC Swap Basics - M50, M52, M52 and S50 So it has come to our attention that the legendary E30 DOHC wiki page is down and gone forever. So instead of letting it die, we have rehosted a copy of this guide. Keep in mind, this was the original work of the e30dohc-swap.wikia website that is no longer hosted. All credi

Nice goal though with the project, always a good look

JB, I am in Alabama. Driving around in the summer down here without a/c can be detrimental to your health.
