As of now, it is a 91 318i, but with whatever motor goes in it, its hard to say the liters.
picked this car up october of 07, originally on ebay, and i got outbid but i contacted the owner who was local and he said if the buyer didnt come through it was mine and he wouldn't relist it. as luck would have it the buyer never contacted him so for 900 bucks it was mine (my original highest bid). i was in search of a facelift diamant schwarz sedan, and i had finally found it! because it had a battery drain where it could not hold a charge for over a few hours or a day or two is why i got it for cheap. the original owner took it in to get something else fixed and couldn't come up with the money so he told the shop to keep it! it was at the shop for around two years i gather. unfortunately every time you went to start it the next day the battery was completely dead. so my dad, having some pretty nice hook ups, got my alternator rebuilt for free. turns out that was all that was wrong with the car. completely rust free 170k facelift car for 900 bucks is a damn good deal.
it sat under a car cover for quite some time as i accumulated parts for it. my basement is a treasure trove of goodies, mainly exterior parts. the car is undergoing a major suspension change and wheels/tires first, only a few pieces left in that puzzle.
here's how it looked a couple days after picking it up, trailered it home with a buddy from right around the princeton area.

completely stock, dents all over, front fenders all messed up. front valence bent, no lip, sealed beams, hood latch doesnt work, miscellaneous odds and ends that need to be taken car of.
in its current state it probably looks mostly the same, but all these little problems are being addressed. as i said my basement is stock full of treasure. (two new front fenders, iS side skirts, acs front lip, brand new valence, new fogs, euro grilles, smileys, m3 seats, etc etc) i'm however not going to be doing much exterior work as its in need of a respray so i'll need to save for that. suspension and wheels first!
here's the list of suspension mods either on or to come very soon. i have in my possession all of this except shocks, coilovers, camber plates, brakes, trak spacers and new tires.
full e30 m3 5 lug
koni single adj shocks
ground control coilovers
camber plates
suspension techniques sway bars (in car currently)
turner rear bar reinforcements (in car currently)
ireland aluminum rsm's (in car currently)
turner 90mm wheel studs
sparco strut bar (in car currently)
all new rotors/pads
4.10lsd
all poly bushings
style 68's with fresh rubber (off e46 330ci)
probably trak spacers as well
here's how it sits today, a few mods, and covered in pollen and crap. i'd apologize for how dirty it is but seeing as we're in the project forum, nahhh. sitting on bavauto springs/ bilsteins for now off a friends parts car. actually komissar's old car! ahahhaha

and a preview of what style 68's on a 5 lugged e30 will look like... (note wheels look bigger because they are closer to the camera, in front of the bottlecaps.) i've never seen these on an e30, i love the wheels, and craigslist always comes through.
