    The Ix

Well Since The iX has been sitting lonely under a cover in my back yard for the last 3weeks its time to get her back on the road.

The motor is coming out this weekend and then I will be taking the motor to Portland engine rebuild. The plan is for the motor is to be totally taken apart by PER and see what the next step is.

I will keep you guys updated of course.

Lets try to keep this thread clean of B.S.

How are your drivetrain parts? Do you think they'll stand up to the extra power?
Just wondering, really interested to see how this will turn out. Keep it up!

I just picked up a complete DT with 50k on it.

Im sure the lower mileage will do just fine.

That's cool. Can't wait to see the buildup of this. I want an ix so bad for snow runs.

honestly you always says your doing something but never do...

I mean if you have it done elsewhere then go ahead but, not having the knowhow Id keep it stock

quote from Josh: He does not have the know how or the mechanical skills or patience to do a stroked motor. He will say he is doing it but wont ever see results.

the "extra" power? what do you think he will get out out of an N/A m20? its not getting above 200hp at 2.8L N/A SOHC. note to OP your stock drivetrain should hold fine. everything I have read says that weakest part is the tranny and that still holds till well over 200hp (around 300hp IIRC is the braking point) you shouldn't need the "newer" stuff, but hell you windowed a block so maybe you will.

My drive train before I threw the rod was making quite a bit of noise.

A complete drivetrain would be a new engine new tranny new driveshaft new diff new half shafts new wheel bearings new rotors, if you wana be complete about what it takes to spin you wheel. So did you really get a complete drivetrain?
