I'm digging the flat white look...

Well I have been working on the exterior of the car for awhile. Filling dents, removing pin striping, fixing rust spots on body panels, etc. Well I was going to go with a bronze metallic flake over a silver.(going to be a lot of work). But in the process of of putting primer on I think I changed my mind. The car isn't actually put back together, just kinda of mocked up. So yes I know the panels are not lined up perfect. There are also some side skirts that are waiting to go on, along with a volvo lip instead of the E's, and fender flares that I don't own. Back bumper and plastic will be swapping colors too. Plastic will be white and bumper will be black. Should I go for a legit flat white?(as in not primer)

also, I can care less if you hate the spoiler, so don't even bother...

Front end is staying like this too. I might remove the bumper supports.

Sorry it was dark as hell, had to rest the camera on a cinder block to keep it steady.

i see what your going for there.....my 2 cents tho: paint the black bumper shrouds white as, repaint the rub strip on the chrome bumper black, and follow that line (from the rub strip) on both ends of the bumper shrouds, and paint those black as well, you'll have a plastic bumper looking setup, tie this aesthetic to the front as well and you're set. and to keep the eye flowing, black rub strips

a popular design element was black rub strips on older cars (also to designate trim levels), don't abandon it, it looks period appropriate and ties everything together nicely....

Yeah the bumper was painted to accept other paint. But yes that is exactly what I was thinking. minus the front bumper though, I really like it with out it. Still got some work to do though with getting the turn signals(don't like how they are now) and install fogs into the gaps.

yes, it was completely tucked. Just as much damage will occur either way. Prob going to keep the mounts there just in case I want to go back.

only person i saw do something similar to that (can't think of his name), that green and black and red track car, the guys in ft lauderdale, he however went fiberglass widebody and kinda built up the indent on the valence so it isn't too obvious that something is missing (not sure if this was intentional but it works).

but im gonna represent the rest of r3v here and say, put the bumper back on.

You should paint the tail lights legit flat white as well.

I ran without a front diving board for awhile (while I painted the surrounds) until I got pulled over for no front plate. Apparently a missing front plate is more dangerous than a missing front bumper and missing front turn signals.

Anyway, I liked it in a way, I really did. I even mounted the fogs on the bumper supports for shits and giggles. But after the novelty wore off, I put the bumper back on and was happy with it. Bumperless E30s are entertaining, but nothing more.

Besides that, I dig the flat white except for the horrible spoiler. I don't care if you don't care, that thing is loathsome.

everything that was going to get sprayed with the silver got the white. It is primer. Wasn't going to stay this color.

I get this is r3v and every one does the same crap. I did the whole jdm thing when I was in hondas. It sucks when you go to a meet and you can't tell what car is yours. I'll do what looks good to me. Just curious about the color.
