You can remote mount the coils fairly easily. Just make sure your leads are well insulated from grounding on other stuff in the engine bay and won't chaff on anything.
This build it giving me some motivation :) Also I found it interesting you used V-bands to clamp the exhaust together - why is that?Leave a comment:

Hey guys, after much delay, I have made some progress.
Added some more heat shielding out onto the firewall

Also gave my headers another coat of silicone

put in a PS delete

Nick cut me a plate to mount the MC directly to the firewall. We had to chop up and flare some donor brake lines, cause the stockers weren't long enough anymore..

then i brought the car home for the final assembly
finally got my fucking half shafts out from the hubs. It took 3 people and a monster sledgehammer

installed the new shafts

check this bs out! my powerflex bushing inverted up into the subframe. WTF?

dropped the motor/tranny in

the brake MC interferes with one of the coils. Im gonna figure out a way to remote mount the coil. More on that later.

After alot of trial and error with wiring, and with the help of my friends Julian and Brian, we got it started. Hopefully this video works...

More progress on the way. Thanks for looking. -MattLast edited by Blip Bavarian; 08-11-2010, 08:50 PM.Leave a comment:

cant go wrong with black. i feel ya.... the sun will take it out of you. thanks for the update. give us another soonThanks. The brake setup was the biggest question mark for me too. I decided to go boosterless, so time will tell how it works out. Ill let you know how mine feels soon.
Ive been poking ass lately. Been working a ton in the hot sun, so its hard to motivate myself to spend the weekend in the garage when its 105 degrees.
We pulled the engine/tranny yesterday for the final time. Im gonna paint the engine bay this week. Any suggestions on color??Leave a comment:

Your opinion on your booster-less set-up will be much appreciated. As for the engine bay color, go black. It's an easy color to paint and "hides" dirt/grime well. My best friend painted his RX-7 (MY old 87 TurboII) engine bay black while he was swapping in his LS1/T56 and it came out looking real good.Thanks.
