Making some progress. We got the old noisy, leaky box out and the new one bolted in. Reaching those transmission and starter bolts is a real motherfucker. We ended up ripping out all of the insulation material out of the trans tunnel. I hope shit doesn't get too loud and hot.
Lots of fluid thrown around in the bellhousing I think the front seal was my main source of leaking trans fluid. Luckily the clutch is all clean.
Heres the pretty new box from drive-gear.com. It certainly looks nice. Lets hope it works as good as it looks!

I'll be trying to get the driveshaft and exhaust back on later this week. Drive-gear recommends 1000 street miles with ATF for the break-in. Next Sebring day is September 15 - thats not much time for 1000 miles! Looks like I'll be driving it to work with some joyrides on the way home!
I'm not too sure if the dual trailers are legal, but my non functioning tails on the 2nd trailer certainly are not (due to no means to connect). FL is generally pretty lenient, no emissions tests or inspections. I was a little nervous on the 40 mile ride home both for cops and for my 4 banger ranger making it up the Skyway bridge!
Both you and Wh33lhop are doing SCCA right with these awesome e30s! That transmission is amazing, that has been on my mind lately. 1k is nice for a fresh transmission.
I was able to wire my trailer lights up, minus turn signals.
Tapped into the harness on the left tail light for running and brake lights. I just tuck the connector in the trunk when not in use.
I've got the trailer lights wired on the BMW, problem is with 2 trailers. No way to get the signal from the Ranger back to the tire trailer. (at least not under these specific conditions)

Ahhh, gotcha. Well, then I gotta ask. Did you get your turn signal wired up? I've been trying to figure out how to make it work without powering unwanted bulbs.
No E30 Club

Anyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

I'm running in HPDE 1 on the 6th and 7th, not sure if thats the same event?
It sounds like you might be running with Chin Motorsports? I'd like to try a day with them soon. My Dad has been a Porsche club instructor for many years, so I have been running with them up to this point. They're very thorough and safe, which is good, but I'm looking to get on track with a wider variety of cars sometime soon.

It's a NASA event, October 6th and 7th. That's interesting about running with the Porsche Club!
