I have been searching for a rust FREE shell to swap my M50 into. One of my friends has one 10 minutes away. I sealed the deal other last night for 250, he keeps the m20 and STD I get blown tranny for core (worth 60 bucks for me)
It is a '87 4dr (I love 4D baby) from Cali, never seen a winter in it's life. Shop kept till this month now sits on a concrete slab under a tarp.
I am not new to working on the E30 owned 5 to date. I am new to doing the M50 swap, I did TONS of reading to get the parts needed.
Plans:
Engine, M50tub25(bought) Tranny, Getrag 260 5spd with Z4 shifter(bought) E24 "aka" 635CSi LSD rearend (own car) Radiator, mishimoto (bought) I did the e34 oil sump and oil pan gasket already. I am also doing the front and rear main crank seals too. (head when it is in) I also would like to swap for the s50US cam valves and a chip.
I need an ECU too, since I am planning on a turbo can I go around the 413 ECU for something easer to get?
I have GC coilover already with vintage OZ baskets
Plastic bumpers and turboing down the road(own a garrett) megasquirt fuel management?
Comments and wisdom welcome, if anyone thinks the e24 rear end is a bad idea let me know what to get! I really don't want to tear my 6 apart.
