Euro 323i from pretty bad to pretty good...

1985 323i Delphin with gray recaro cloth interior.

I bought this car in April 2006, it was listed on Autotrader of all places with a terribly written ad. "1985 bmw euro, wrecked, new engine" I drove out to see it and ended up buying it. The guy I bough it from was the CEO of a large shipping company and the car was imported by one of his close friends. When I bought the car he handed me a huge stack of receipts which only dated back to 2003 and it totaled over $10 grand! The engine was completely rebuilt including but not limited to new pistons and a reground cam.
The new engine only had 5,000 miles on it when he let his son drive the car and he "hit a guard rail". He had already spend so much money on the car he was done and didn't want to spend another dime on it. Enter Mac Budd..

Here are some pictures from when I bought it:

I bought a used fender that was beige and used trusty duplicolor storm gray which is a damn good match to delphin from a rattlecan. This is still the fender on there today... i know thats pretty bad right. I found a good delphin drivers door. Bought a brand new, from the dealer, front bumper center section, and new front bumper trim etc..
The car stayed 4x4 height for a while and even sported a couple sets of wheels while way up there.

Here it is with my old delphin 325e. I brought both of these cars to the 2006 Joshie Fest in Bend, OR looking just like this:

Then the car finally got some springs. H&R sports at this time:

I ended up wrecking the delphin 325e so it donated the H&R Cup kit and a better hood. And saw a few more sets of wheels...

Here was both my e30s at the 2009 e30 picnic:

    A shot from the Car-B-Q at Curt's Round 2:

Then it sat for the last few months and got brought back to life in the last week or two. I added an M tech front valence and pulled it outta the shop:

Then i put on some new control arms, CABs, e90 drop hats, pulled the spring pads and spaced out the bottle caps in the back:

Then just today I pulled the rough m tech in favor of a zender unit and put on some proper wheels. Still needs some paint and a few little things but darn near picnic ready 2 months early!

I like the previous weaves better than the 5-spokes and you need a at least a rear apron to compliment the valence.
But then again it is really hard to dislike anything about this car, especially regarding from where it has come...

you go through wheels faster than I go through shoes. You know you can just replace the tires you dont need new wheels every time too. lol

I seriously like the bottlecaps better than the new wheels. (What are those called I can't remember for the life of me?)

I was getting a lot of shit for the gold bottlecaps and the tires were studs with slow leaks! the 5 spokes are ASAs, best extras i have to work with right now. one day it will be back on some vintage mesh, hopefully with a big lip.

I added some Zender rear flares and some OEM BMW rear mudflaps this week.
