It's been a long time since I've updated!
I had some major problems with the starter:
And the A/C compressor didn't clear the radiator:
So I decided to tackle both at once. I held the motor in place with the cherry picker and dropped the subframe. This was to allow me to push the motor strait back without having to lift it off of the motor mounts (it wouldn't clear the trans tunnel if it were elevated even slightly) Running mounts from Otis (Good&Tight) allowed me to fit the A/C compressor perfectly.
I also lined the trans tunnel with some Dynamat to keep the heat and noise down inside the cabin.
All In and ready to go!
Then this happened :(
So, on to the next step.....bodywork.
I just want to get it done and drive!!!! agaahahhahaha!!!

Oh my god. My jaw seriously dropped. I feel terrible about what happened to your car, and just when it was getting all stitched up. Best of luck man.Late model granitesilber 325i convertible FS:

Ok, I was a little confused about your a/c post. So you couldn't make it clear with Funk's mount and switched to mounts from Otis and the same compressor cleared? What is the part number on the compressor you are using?

A few things contributed to the wreck. Because I installed the rear camber/toe adjusters the alignment isn't right in the back yet, I haven't been able to get it to PacMo to have them do a full 4-wheel alignment. I also probably have the rear bar set too stiff. I will try to actually disconnect it and see if I have better luck putting down power and keeping everything in a strait line. With full adjustability on all 4 corners and the f/r sway bars, there is a lot of suspension tuning I can do to get this thing driving better. Also my brake pads are OEM garbage, they have zero bite. I need to get some more aggressive pads for sure. Probably if I had had better pads with more bite I could have stopped 2 feet sooner and avoided all this :/

A buddy of mine spotted a good condition bronzit valance at a yard yesterday and picked it up for me. I also am getting some AWII mixed up in spray cans at the local Sherwin-Williams Auto, those should be ready for me tomorrow. So I'll have a nice straight AWII valance on the car by the end of the weekend. Then I can try and get the small dent out of the fender and make sure it's straight and sitting right. Hopefully the Mtech doesn't take too long to get back from the body shop.
Then it's straight to the alignment shop, probably with the rear sway disconnected for now. I need to get the preload set on the end links and get the f/r stiffness set up right for more nuetral handling.
I also called Dynomax mufflers about their new VT that I bought. The little flap inside that is supposed to open at higher flow rates (RPMs) is so loose that it flaps around at idle, bouncing off its stops making a terrible rattling and clinking noise; it sounds like shit. After speaking with their tech dept they agreed something was wrong, transfered me to warranty and now I'm getting a brand new one shipped to me at zero cost. They're even going to reimburse me for the labor to have them switched out, and said I can keep the old muffler. Nice to do business with a company that takes care of their customers
edit: Oh and I ordered the UUC BBK, should be here in about 10-12 days. That will help with my braking issues :)Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 05-13-2010, 08:33 AM.
