That's a bunch of cash monies. The good news is the 8.5:1 Pistons are in stock so you won't have to worry about delivery time on those!

    Not planning on E85?
E85 at the pump here has been said to not be consistant in terms of the mixes. So I don't think that it will be good for me. Mabye in a few years time when they have a nice consistant mixture I'll consider swapping some 10:1 pistons in and setting it up for E85.

Have you heard much about Gaz coilovers. Upon looking into them they look to be a pretty good deal and a lot easier due to being direct bolt in. No having to make mods to struts or anything. Also gives the advantage of coilover rear end. If I end up going down the path or that I will definently be doing some strut tower reinforcing though.

So after finally getting some money sorted I just ordered the rest of my engine build:

    Arp studs all round
    8:5:1 Cp pistons
    Vac Main bearings
    Vac Rod bearings
    42lbs Injectors
    Bosch 040 Fuel pump

Just waiting for a email back about coilovers and then they will be ordered too. Allthough being christmas time that could take a while and have to wait till next week or so.

The rear end wasnt too bad, I was only just starting to do stuff on my own when I did it. If I was to do it again I would probably get the bushes pressed in before painting and get it either powdercoated or spray a form of crinkle or chip resistant paint onto it.

another very respectable build. I'm in the process of my m50 swap and my engine bay is completely down to bare metal, now its just filly all the holes and gaps, and painting. Then to the rear subframe for some more fun... haha how difficult was your rear end? any procedures you took?

Its just a 3M Aluminium caliper paint, I'm hoping that it will be temperature resistant enough. The aluminium came out clean after being put in the super wash but it wasn't consistant enough, So painting it makes all the peices look identical at least :)

Yeah well normally I get stuff from pelican within a week. Its coming up on 4 weeks now and still no idea when its going to arrive.:( After the engine goes back in comes the big job of saving money to buy a turbo & get a manifold & dump pipe made.
