This is the reason why it's not being worked on:

I'm giving it a complete engine rebuild. Everything new except for the cam, crank and pistons.

Can you tell I make decals for a living? I told myself this car was going to be clean and completly sticker free. Didn't last long, and told myself the same thing about the E30.

"She's fast enough for you old man."

I personally think my E30 is the Falcon, It's faster than you think it is and it breaks down all the time.

Hey guys, I've been researching the front e36 suspension/brakes swap but I can't find any info on the rear? All I want to know is if the rear shocks bolt right in?

Bahhh well it's been sitting in the shops back yard. I popped the hood one day and found one kitten sleeping on the valve cover and another in the battery tray. Probably the cutest fucking thing I've ever seen.

Anyways I've been working on the Jetta everyday for about 5 hours a day for the past threeish weeks. My friend (who's buying the Jetta and paying for all the parts and labor) is coming in for Wuste on the 5th and driving it home to San Diego.

I've been very meticulous. Organizing every bolt, nut, stud and washer. Cleaning every single thing. Prepping everything that is connected to the engine for paint and painting what I can. All with just wire wheels, a drill, steel wool, degreaser and rags. I really wish I had a sand blaster.

                    PHOTO DUMP!

GAP ran out of the $100 rings so they gave me the $150 ones for no extra charge! Them and AZauto are my new best friends.

In June I'll be back to the E30. Getting it registered, fixing the trans leak and swapping in a Walbro. I'm even thinking of getting some Diamond Racing 14's for it to share with my GTI. :D

If any of you guys are coming down for Wuste come say hi.

Plus I need to practice A LOT more for the drift event next month. It'll be the first time all my friends and I will be out there at the same time.

you mentioned fuel cut out, how much fuel was in the car? I am in the process of building a canister for the fuel pick up to sit in to eliminate fuel starvation. With 4 gallons left in the tank on long sweeping corners I get fuel starvation and it will cost about 1-1.5 seconds per lap. the cheap fix in drifting is make sure you have atleast half a tank at all times, theory does not work in road racing so it gets expensive.

I filled the tank right before the event. It was probably 15/16 full when it started. I already have a Walbro in the mail. I'm thinking it was just the small weak pump or that hose clamped down with zip ties. What sucks is I can't really test it without going all out in a 30mph left drift. And that's kind of illegal on the streets, so my main focus is to get registered so I can drive out to a dry lake bed.
