Why would you build the body to take 14's and only use 8.5's and 10's?

invisible saddle: I still have the Z, I'm waiting on garage boso to install an hks fcon in it. I will most likely be doing XDC again next year and a few FD pro am events.
e30polak and 325ix: I will be running the 8.5s up front for more angle. The narrower the wheel/tire, the more room you have before your tires make contact with the framerail. The farther you can push the wheel out (widebody) you get even more room for added angle.
An 8.5 is wide enough to hold a 235, that should be enough tire, I might want less actually.
The 17x10s that I will be trying in the back are new wheels that Ari just finished and I will use that as a starting point. I will probably end up with a 10.5 in the back when I order wheels from ssr. That should be enough rim and I can order the offeset I want to eliminate the need for a large spacer.
Ok then, on with the updates:
I mounted the widebody as you can see in Ari's pictures (thanks Ari!). I mounted the rear fenders with button head hex screws. I welded nuts into the lower doorframe to mount the sideskirts easily. I probably wont have time to make a front bumper support before sema or make the rear bash bars. That will have to wait for after sema. I mounted the rest of it with porsche fender liner speednuts and those little 8mm bmw screws with the washer on them that are all over e30s.(those are really cheap too) I was not to confident in the little lower lip surviving repeated attacks from the cones and other objects of drift car destruction. I made a splitter for it out of the left over lexan from making the back window. I had a good size piece left over and it to lined up with an inch left on both sides, it was too perfect to pass up. I cut it down to size and I will paint it black. It should be strong enough to deflect the cones without damaging my precious fiberglass.
I decided on a color once a buddy of mine pulled up to my house on a 08 honda 600rr with a crazy peal orange that was just what I was looking for. My previous inspiration was a similar orange on the Autobacs CLK DTM car. So a few days later my friend didn't quite make it to my house. I live at the bottom a canyon road and he low sided the bike on the corner right before my house. He was fine, he just has a bike to fix and a little road rash. So that gave me a paint chip to match the paint if I had too. I tried to get the paint from a few places and the could not get it because the color codes for motor cycles are different and most people buy farings pre painted anyways. So I ended up having to match it, but I am very satisfied with the results. For the interior I went with a dark metallic grey, some isuzu color. The car will be done with paint on teusday and then go straight to Metrix for wiring and the engine/trans/diff install.
I picked up sponsorship from JRZ suspension and will be using their RS Pro dampers. They are top of the line and are identical to Motons in their design, you can even interchange parts.
It's going to be a real hustle to make it to sema. But everything seems to be coming together on time here. Here are a few pics on the paint progress:
You can really see the color change from dark to light.
