    projekt 327iC

Hey guys, I'm starting this thread mostly has a place to ask questions about my swap.. so first, some details:

m20b27 from my '86 325es is going in my '89 325iC. I'm keeping the whole induction system from the convertible, which will makes things a lot easier, since I'll be able to keep the wiring harness and lots of other things in the car.

So, some questions I have before me and my buddy dive into this:

The transmission currently in the convertible is an auto, but the tranny attached to the b27 is a manual. Am I gonna run into issues when bolting up the b27 to the auto?

The coolant tank is on the passenger side in the b27, but drivers side in the convertible. This means the water pumps are on opposite sides of the block, correct? What do I do about this?

Thats all for now, but I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes on.

    Thanks in advance

You will not run into any issues when installing the auto onto the B27 block.

The water pump is exactly the same, but the coolant and radiator systems are different. Leave the convertible stuff in there.

the bentley says the engine lift points are on the cylinder head and transmission flange or something... but the cylinder head is off the block. so how should we go about lifting the engine?

use big bolts, and put them through the chain, and a hole on the front and rear of the engine. Make sure it makes sense and looks safe to you.
