    thanks for the props guys... I just felt like he was but if not then my apologies to him.. so ya we will sell the AW as well and should have it detailed by this weekend.. I just need to put a new headliner and we r good to do..

        whats with leaving the rear trunk lid on during the respray?

          we didnt have to edge the trunk lid so according to my painter it was not necessary to take it off. He prepped it very nice and the results of the paint job is very clean..

              You did all this in how much time???? This looks familiar, except what took you a month, took me more than a year.... Awesome job.... Did you go with the Turner 2.5? and if you did what was your clearance between piston and head? I still can't believe you did this so quick, just awesome...

                I sent my head to a machine shop locally. They replaced the valves, shims, guides and did the valve angle job.. They also made sure all my valves were adjusted.. I ordered the complete upper and lower gasket from turnermotorsport...reassembled everything and now she runs like a champ..


                your engine looks really shocked.. I highly recd the turner 2.5 kit if you want to spend that kind of money. guys at turner will give you great advice..

                  well its wasnt the adjustment on the coilovers...the PO had different tire sizes on the car and thats why it was sitting lop sided.. we made the adjustment and she is sitting right..

                    I bought the car with the motor running on three cylinders, compression was 215, 0, 215, 215 pulled the motor and found out why. I did the Turner 2.5 kit, and it was well worth it. Sent an email to Will Turner on sunday asking about the piston to head clearance, he responded on monday morning with the info, the only reason he didn't respond on sunday was he was racing at mid atlantic... Turner is tops in my book.. Are you going to put the reinforcement kit on the front subframe?, it's worth it.
                    Take care, and once again, car sounds like it's gonna be great.. always good to see another alpine saved from the boneyard..

                                fortunately I didnt have any issues with the pistons.. it just had 2 bad exhaust valves.. so that why I did a head job and then replaced all the gaskets.. now the compression and everything else on the car is good.. drove the car yesterday and everything seemed proper.. just have to wait for the clutch to break in a bit..

                                yes i did buy the subframe reinforcement from AKG and had it welded.. I might have a s14 for sale next week, I just bought another e30 m3 that I am going to swap with a s50b32.. I just love those engines.. lol
