Okay so my cars' overall build thread is here.
This thread is for my S52 project specifically on my Schwarz coupe.
Currently I have an m20 with a blown head in my 1989 Schwarz 325i coupe. (That I [almost]uselessly cleaned and replaced all the belts on, lol)
I am getting a local 1998 OBDII s52 from a 2 adult owner well maintained M3, with all accessories included. I am looking to buy the rest of the parts for the swap here.
The plan is to keep it OBDII, run an OBDI header for CARB legality and increased HP, get my DME tuned for o2 deletion / airpump deletion / OBDI headers, and stick with it like that for a minute. Further down the line some engine modifications and forced induction system will be added.
I have some unanswered questions about the OBDII swap that are still keeping me cautious like; can it be tuned for a turbo? can it be tuned with the OBDI headers and deleted sensors / pump without throwing a CEL?
AFAIK tuning is tuning and there's plenty of guys(shops) in so-cal who can do it regardless of what else is happening on my motor...in fact a tuner is exactly the person to go to with custom motors..so I feel like I'm okay here?
Anyways I'm going to go get my m20 ready for the pull, updates later.
