I doubt I'll have more than just the mounts for my car.

Ignorance is bliss I guess... I have no problem with the m20, they're good motors, but this entire motor setup was less than the cost of a decent turbo, and SRs are very reliable. In fact I may be able to sell my m20 for as much as I bought the SR20 setup for.

Not to mention this thing will make 220-230whp in stock form, when it comes to reliability I'll take that over an NA-T setup anyday, especially when the motor is going to banging off the limiter constantly. Most importantly, it's different.

If you're a bmw elitist that thinks it's blasphemous to put anything but a bmw engine in one of these then you're in the wrong thread. You probably would have been more upset if I went with my original plan of swapping in an F20c.

Moral of the story I'm building the car how I want to.

I'm not saying the SR is the greatest motor of all time or anything, but they are very solid motors. I wanted to f20 swap it, but it came down to cost, and it looked like it was going to cost a lot more than I wanted to spend. RB would have been nice, but it would have cost even more and be less reliable. Considering I paid less than 1000 for a complete SR setup I think it was my best option.

Been too cold lately to really do any work, I've mostly just been gathering parts... Grabbed some fanciness for the SR:

Test fitted the front plastic bumper with the early zender lip.

I've really come to like the old zender front lip the car came with, so I'm gonna try it out with the plastic bumpers for a while.

Also picked up a new trunk, no more crap spoiler and gay third brake light.

And now the fun stuff begins. Within a week or two the interior should be done aside from paint.

Oh, you mentioned something about a roll bar/cage, I was just curious what you were going to do for this. Custom fab'd or a bolt in? I just tried to put an Auto Power bar in my cabrio and realized it won't fit :(

Not anytime soon... I'm only going to be running 195s in the rear, so I think if/when I swap turbos the S15 T28 turbo will be more than good enough.

Yeah, I read that the autopower wouldn't fit the convertible, so I'm doing a full custom weld in 6 point.

With my old car getting parted out, and my new car getting built, I'm running out of room to work, haha.

Not knowing ahead of time that the carpet on these cars was designed my the devil and wrapped around every single part under the dash, I quickly got frustrated... Since it was blue and in crappy condition anyways I grabbed the box cutter and started ripping it to pieces and just left the piece under the dash on the trans tunnel.

I thought I had found a 100% rust free chassis, but considering its an e30 in IL I wasn't too surprised when I found this under the carpet...

Oh well, luckily I had already planned on bringing it to the body shop to clean up and paint the interior soon anyways.

Off to the shop tomorrow... Updates within the week.

do you happen to know a driver by the name of mike tung?
he had a red sr hatch that had a crumpled rear end because of a run in with a wall last season.. he has a 20v gt-s coupe now.
