Been too cold lately to really do any work, I've mostly just been gathering parts... Grabbed some fanciness for the SR:

Test fitted the front plastic bumper with the early zender lip.

I've really come to like the old zender front lip the car came with, so I'm gonna try it out with the plastic bumpers for a while.
Also picked up a new trunk, no more crap spoiler and gay third brake light.

And now the fun stuff begins. Within a week or two the interior should be done aside from paint.

I'm not saying the SR is the greatest motor of all time or anything, but they are very solid motors. I wanted to f20 swap it, but it came down to cost, and it looked like it was going to cost a lot more than I wanted to spend. RB would have been nice, but it would have cost even more and be less reliable. Considering I paid less than 1000 for a complete SR setup I think it was my best option.Leave a comment:

an F20c would of beel alot better than sr20 lol. i hate Purists i like to be different but just the Sr20 is an overrated motor rb26 would be alot cooler too.Leave a comment:

I doubt I'll have more than just the mounts for my car.
Ignorance is bliss I guess... I have no problem with the m20, they're good motors, but this entire motor setup was less than the cost of a decent turbo, and SRs are very reliable. In fact I may be able to sell my m20 for as much as I bought the SR20 setup for.
Not to mention this thing will make 220-230whp in stock form, when it comes to reliability I'll take that over an NA-T setup anyday, especially when the motor is going to banging off the limiter constantly. Most importantly, it's different.
If you're a bmw elitist that thinks it's blasphemous to put anything but a bmw engine in one of these then you're in the wrong thread. You probably would have been more upset if I went with my original plan of swapping in an F20c.
Moral of the story I'm building the car how I want to.Leave a comment:

I think this is the project forum... No?
As of right now I'm planning on building this to be a street and track car... I'm still going to track the IS, but I want to keep it simple after all the 2JZ NA-T problems I had with the SC.Leave a comment:
