    vert S50 swap.. its time

Just started by getting the m20 out. next thing on the list is to shave/wiretuck the shit out of the engine bay. never in my life have i seen such a wiring disaster. the PO installed some stupid aftermarket auto locking alarm system. whoever installed must hav been brain dead. next im getting it painted. not sure what color yet. its between alpine white, dakar yellow or idk i hav alot of crazy ideas but ill cross that bridge when i come to it. prob gonna end up driving it around frankenstein with black hood unpainted bumper and red fender and white car. cash is tight and i just wanna drive my car i hate seeing it not running.

I second Apline 3. I had this on a rust bucket (as it turns out) but here's what it looked like in it's prime:

It's a bit subtle, but a lot creamier than standard Alpine 1 or 2.

Also clean up the engine before installing it in a fresh engine bay ;)

One of my best friends dad owns a sick Body shop so I could get a deal on the paint and some other things that I wanted done. He said he would repaint put a full cage and cut out and fix a couple rust spots and fix and re weld my front clip for 2 grand . So I mite take him up on that offer

Definately take him up on that offer as that's a FANTASTIC price. I'm a little jealous...

I'd imagine, even at a 'friends price' (or cost), that at $2k for a repaint, bodywork, AND cage, you're looking at rustoleum paint, large amounts of bondo, and PVC.

Just sayin'; if that isn't the case I'm envious.

The roll cage is out of another e30 that he had a while ago so hes hooking that up. and the paint is gonna b professionally done. theres no need for body work i dont hav any dents. all i need is a small rust hole in the floor welded up and the front clip banged out cus the previous owner apparently crashed it and half assed fixing it so the engine fan would rub on the rad

your gonna put a cage in your vert? will the soft top still be able to go up? As far as colors go, id say keep it simple. A radical color like dakar, or LSB are very hard to pull off on a relatively stock looking DB e30. Just my .02

yea it should fit. need something to keep me safe in that death trap! just the fact of not having airbags kinda freaks me out and i think the vert would look sick caged out. i wouldnt actually paint it laguna seca i was more stuck on technoviolet. but idk could go a million different ways at this point all depends on how much money i can get together. i mite need to throw it together before the winters over so in that case i would just paint it something easy like matte black so its all the same color until i can get a real paint job. i have the air tools and stuff prepping is just a bitch. no matter what i really just dont want to drive it around with a red fender black hood and unpainted valence. ugghghhhh so much work!

and as for the diving boards those r through i got plastic bumpers and the nicer valence so hopefully that will change the look up

I vote keep it classy, clean, and simple with a factory E30 color.
