behind the glovebox isn't necessary but around the pedals yes, unless you want to be stuck there for a good hour trying to jiggle around 30lb, 20 year old carpet

If some asshat across the street from me was sitting in their driveway just revving their motor I'd be pissed too. I work on all my cars at my house but I'm still respectful of my neighbors.

so do you want me to rev testing for an exhaust leak in a wal-mart parking lot instead? just today my brother was backing out his car out of the garage and his shithead wife came over and start yelling shit. she even call the cops. the cops came just sat in his car and left after couple mins.

Agreed, but this is pretty ridiculous... COPS? im assuming he wasnt doing it a 1AM or even at 11pm this is probably in the day time so the neighbors are just being dicks about it.

next time just call the cops and tell them your neighbor touched you inapropriately, have him arrested for sexual harrasment or something

well, you arent running a business out of your garage, right? id invite all my friends over to work on their cars, seeing as how you technically wouldnt be violating the HOA.

that passenger side leak is most likely the elephant trunk. literally less than 1 minute to fix, and no dash removal lol. its on the pass. side firewall, just turn it a little and pop it out. then spray it out with a hose or something and put back on. done.

lol.. that day my older brother was doing his oil change and his gf was over so she was cleaning her car interior. we had 4 cars outside and plus mine. mine was inside our wooden gate. we call the home owner ass. the other day and they say someone falsely snitch us out.

i clean the elephant trunk already, still leak that's why the dash got to go. i'm going to try to get things done today since yesterday i play COD all day..lol so F addicting...

our neighbor has dog barking all the time, even late at night. we don't report them to HOA. sometime he come home from work around 10-11pm and had to put his car inside the garage, that's about it. when we just moved into this new house and we had a family gathering, he blocked his side of the street with cone so no one wouldn't park there.

Good luck man. I feel ya on the stupid H.O.A shit. Our neighbors were cool until last june, someone started slashing my tires. Then just a week ago, they put new enforcement on the 'guest' parking, and are starting to tow everyone's 'extra' cars.

These situations really irk me. Let me explain...

This is how a shell of man / HOA / neighbor lies to the city/HOA to take action against you. It's the most cowardly move and also considered slander. When it's a blatant lie you can sue him for harassment if it continues (just don't rev cars anymore.) I don't know about California, but city code states you can work on your car here in PLAIN sight for up to I believe 14 days consecutively and they can't do anything about it. Unless of course you live where there is a nazi HOA.

I had this happen at my parents house, some neighbors had it out for me (never reved my cars, never was disrespectful, not once, when I did work on cars it was usually in there garage with it half open... they just hated young people with car knowledge?) but they were friends with the president/director of the HOA, she stopped by and threatened me. I said I wasn't doing a damn thing wrong, and it was my own personal cars I was working on, it was not a business. So she sent a cop car under the lie I was conducting a business... I asked the cops why they were there, and who sent them. They stated it was called in anonymous and they really didn't know why they were here. After the explanation they understood the situation, apologized for wasting my time, and left. The HOA changed by-laws tried to amend their contract without requiring getting signatures again, or a required vote. It was a constant headache for some in the neighborhood, especially my parents and I. When really we didn't do anything wrong.

Now I don't live in an HOA neighborhood, can you guess why? I'm never dealing with someone telling me how to live on my property ever again. Send a letter to the city stating it is harassment from a neighbor. You are a taxpayer do not let the city/hoa bully you.

Very good points made in this thread.
I've prepared a detailed speech at the next hoa meeting.
I'm not an owner (I'm in HS, and live with my parents), but nevertheless, I'm a resident, who owns two cars in the community.
