I've been wanting to dive in with the sharks too... So, I'll keep an eye on this thread and see your pain/ pleasures.

Wow... takes balls to try and fix an e12 based 6er! They're a lot more finicky than the e28 ones IIRC. Good luck, and make sure your credit card is in good order!

          Buffalo leather Recaros?

Get some 17" wheels and lower the car. The e12 suspension is stronger and not as finicky as the e28 based platform. But it doesn't handle as good though.

          Congratulation. Now you're pimpin' :pimp:

I dunno, did buffalo leather recaros come in black? These look to be leather comfort seats.

Here's a quick snap I took before leaving for work:

Buffalo leather Recaros are very thick and extremely comfy. and they are actually real Recaros, not Sport seats as found in later e24s.

Installing a nice set in your e24 will probably instantaneously triple its purchasing price ;-)

I thought buffalo leather was the actual shade/color of the material not the design?

Either way I fully support tricking out this ride.

Recaro actually used heavy water buffalo skins. Much thicker than the usual production. Basically the same as steer hide. The same seats are also used in the Euro e12 M535. But any Reacro will fit providing adapters are available. But the 12 ones are flat and easy to reproduce.

Well, I do have my set of e30 alpina recaros. I wonder if they will fit...

I bought, and then tore apart essentially the same car except mine had a motronic m90 (which is currently being rebuilt for e30 duty). Mine had too much rust to save, but its a shame I got rid of almost all the parts as mine was that color grey too.

Anywho, good luck. I still have the fiberglass or plastic front spoiler(Mine needs paint but is complete.) for those euro bumpers if you need a replacement. Also should still have the sideloader diff and steering box.

You have euro car, 635 wasn't imported till later, and the bumpers are a giveaway.

Slicktop seems to be rare on newer cars, but my 77 630csi is slick, 82 & 83 both have usless tiny holes in the roof.

This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

hokay, you want to convert to motronic apparently from the old bmw guru at work. at this time you'll be changing a cam and going to a hotter one because i said so. suspension can be attained from ST as far as springs go. he said something about dampers but i forgot already (mahbad)

if nothing else, lets build some coil overs for you good sir.

i think im more excited to live vicariously through you than you are about owning the car
