Wierd question, do you wear adidas samba shoes? Looks like a really cool car. I would love to have a euro bmw one day.

Very cool car. I'm glad plug wires got you some good progress to keep morale up. I vote to keep em both.

Thanks, and you're completely right, the morale boost was wonderful.

Car's at a shop now, getting coolant, oil, and a general suspension inspection. (mainly, I didn't feel like messing with fluids after doing an e30 headgasket on Saturday/Sunday)

I got the front windows to work again by cleaning out the switches - they're a much better design than the e30 ones! Come apart easier, less fiddly bits inside. However, the back windows still do not work. Anyone have a ETK for early E24s handy?

keep the M90. euro M90's are 10.5:1 compression. really stout motor. and dogleg to boot!! most euro's were slicktops also. btw nice find on the euro. im beginning to love my 6 more and more. every time i fix something, it makes me happier. i still have a soft spot for the e30's though. have you found out if your side-loader is an lsd? those things are so rare.

^ I think my sideloader is an LSD. have to double-check, though. The trans is 5spd and close-ratio, also.

Here is how you identify the ratio on the sideloader. I have an extra on a shelf that I could sell if you need a different ratio. I'll check what mine is.

^^ which front valence? I obviously have the US one, and want a euro one with foglight holes. However, it is lower priority than fixing the car to work correctly.

I am ok on the other bits, though. Heater works, oilpan is intact, coil is the same as on later M30-powered cars (and M20s).

I'm traveling for work this week. I have a euro valance. I occasionally make it as far south as redding (once a year kind of thing). I'll get you pics/

Pics would be great. Let me know when you're going to redding next, it's a sort-of-doable drive for me.

Oh, also I may have found wheels, but I don't want to say anything until it's a sure thing. Jinxed too many awesome finds that way :(

Well, the wheels fell through. Sadface. They were 17x8.5 Breyton Inspirations, for 300 bucks.

I saw the water print they left in one of the pictures, I wear the same shoes and for some odd reason I noticed that and remebered what the print looked like.

Ah. They are good shoes. I think I have bought a pair every year since '04 or so.

If we ever meet, we should rub them together for good luck, or something.
