Ohh ok, I see what you're talking about. The vacuum hub thing? That's a piece I milled out on my dads mill. You can use the stock one and port into it if you want, but I decided to get fancy and make my own.
I know some guys who have ran no oil cooler for a year or so and they had no issues. Ive also had people tell me an oil cooler is absolutely essential.
Some people do upgrade their coolers with smaller ones that fit behind the grill and a remote filter with stainless lines and AN fittings and what not, but that's $$. So far it's been fine with no oil cooler. If you look in the filter housing there's a spring. It's basically a thermostat that opens up when the oil gets to 210 F (I'm almost positive that's the wrong degree, but something around there) and allows oil to flow through to the cooler. The cooler isn't always on. Earlier models came from the factory without an oil cooler at all. There are lots of mixed opinions on this.Comment

Bridge to nowhere....they finally paved it a couple of years ago. Fun place to screw around. Is that close to where you live? My buddy Scotty B lives over there and used to have an e30 before he 360 slid it into the curb you are parked next to. Now I have it.Comment

I still have no idea how you are from SB and into e30's yet we have never met or talked about cars before (you did call me about some parts one time). Gotta make that happen man!Comment

Definitely this. I was really dreading the removal process, but it turned out easier then I thought. It took under a minute to get it all out.Comment
