So-- over time some of the stitching has come undone on one bar on the top..so I decided to try and fix it.. IE..sew it..
Started with the following. I used the curved needle (#7) and i found some black embroidery thread that was the same size as the existing stitchng, I believe it was labeled a "#10" (the other 2 i bought where a 8 and a 12)...

To start I sewed/tied off to the fabric on the bar and came up next to the existing stitch, crossed over it and came back down through the top to stop any more stitches from coming undone, went through the fabric on the bar again and then tied it off nice and snug.
From there I pushed the needle through the fabric on the bar (from front to back) and would come up just to the right of my new stitch (up top) and then go back down through the original stitch hole. (go down through the top, pull tight, then push the needle from front to back through the fabric on the bar and then come up to the right of the new stitch, then go down through the next original hole and repeat)
I made a few attempts at stitching and finally went with the pattern above and moved forward. Hard to see in the pic but there are about 5 stitches done. From the grey thread to where the needed is pointing. (the existing thread is grey from fading over the years)

Heater a must...it was cold...

view from inside, pushing the needle from front to back through the fabric on the bar..

Finished product.. not to bad for a first time! :D

What I need to do next is wash the top with some Cloth Top sealer to make sure the new stitching is weather sealed too...but its too cold to do that right now...so it'll have to wait..gonna put the hard top on for the winter now!
