    m52 e30

well, i guess i can start this. pictorially, all you'll get is iphone shots as i sold my nikon to a friend a few months ago.

the m44 is gone and an m52 is replacing it. i bought an '04 330i ZHP to replace the e30 on daily driving duties. the guys at Solo Motorsports have been commissioned for help and have been overly helpful in the process. the motor and all the following parts are being put on a pallet and sent out next week:

    m52 motor
OBDI s50 wiring harness, drive shaft, clutch kit, flywheel, fuel rail, manifold
    brake booster
    DME
    oil pan, sump, dipstick
    oil pan gasket
    flex disc
    ZF tranny
    e39 m5 motor mounts

Grossman Tuning will be doing the swap work. as soon as the motor arrives it will be broken down and all gaskets will be done and any maintenance needed will be addressed as it comes. the head/block/trans will all be painted black by myself once they break the motor down. the OBX m52 headers just came in the mail today, contemplating heat wrapping them in black just to go with the "all black" situation that will happen in the bay. the headers are damn pretty polished though. John Grossman will be doing a custom exhaust setup for the back half of the car. since the car has been down there a full audio system has been installed using alpine 1000w and 500w (digi) amps with 5 1/4inch kappa perfects for the front and references for the rear with a 10 inch type R sub. all of this is being mounted on a custom amp rack and a custom box is being made. a rockford fosgate cap is also being slapped in there. whenever i can snag updates pictorially i will.

a ton of the m44 parts are for sale, alot of which are brand new and broken in (clutch, trans, motor mounts, manifold, plumbing, etc etc etc) so if you know anyone needing anything im willing to cut some deals to move the stuff.

and heres the car in question:

m44 got installed after the trans died in ATL on the way home from buying the car and engine issues came up. got the car back healthy running and drove it for about 4 weeks. lent the car to my younger brother to go run errands and he ended up burying the m44 (busted the pan, scorched all the rod bearings, piston walls were damaged). m52 is now going in the car.

its been an interesting (and shitty) ownership to this point with little room to enjoy the car through no fault of my own (for the most part). maybe after i get it back this time around things will be different. i damn well wont be giving anyone the keys, ever haha.

the block needs 2-3 more coats of paint then its on to doing the timing chain cover, valve cover, head, etc etc etc.

timing chain cover had a small crack in it so ill have to source a new one. ordered a new, crack free dash and cold air in take system (the OE m52 intake doesnt fit in the e30) and those should be in late next week.
