Looking forward to doing this someday as well.

ya i revisited the s54 idea but its just not worth it doller wise compaired to a euro s50b32.
best price i got installed with all parts was 12-13,000, thats just to much when compaired to the euro s50b32 motor with the same power.
the euro motors are 150-200 pounds lighter as well from what i was told and in the future will be far more rare in my PO.
i like most of you i keep waiting for the s54 to come down in price and for it to become more comon place but its been 4-6 years now and very little progress has been made and i cant see that changing any time soon.
so i just decided to go euro and if things change a few years down the line then maybe.
but i just cant see the point of it with the horse power being the same and the euro motors being lighter what sense would that make
i guess if you wanted to say you have a newer (heavier more costly) motor ;)......then i would say go for it
but for me the last thing i want to do is add more weight to the vert.

i may be picking up another euro motor this one being an s50b32 with 80k so ill be keeping the s50b30 for another project or it will be up for sale.

Personally, I like the look of the S54 plant on E30s. ;)

I am sure when they come down in price in the next few years, we will see these swaps as more common.

I got it with super low miles for a great price so I couldn't pass it up.
It has 30kilometers and 9k US miles so about 27,000 US miles total.
It's cool tho I may still do the s54 swap and either sell or keep this motor for another project.
Got a few friends waiting to see how this project turns out before they pull the trigger.

Either way it will be tons of fun. Looks like vlad is doing a great job as always

The extra 17 horses wouldn't matter much.... Flex shouldn't be an issue with a N/A s54.

Jonsku runs a m60/62? in his vert, which has 300tq, it also weighs more. Also there is a number of boosted verts out there with lots of power..

I was going with a s54 swap till VLAD talked me out of it :(, he said it would be to much for the vert with flex, I tend to agree but ive been bit by the power bug from birth so saying no to more power is tuff for me lol.
It's more important for me to have a well balanced car so will start with the euro motor then go from there.
If I want more I can always turbo/supercharged it.

yea i cant wait myself, been wanting to have this car redone for over 2 years now.
its been sitting that long :(.
im more of a purest when it comes to looks, i think the factory did it so well why change anything other than a slight drop.
but when it comes to motor swaps the skies the limit
