Thanks! Here Ill post it again for ya. ;) They're not offset but they're made of Ertalon. Practically the same density as Delrin. I chose not to go offset since I don't see high speed tracks very often. I usually just hit tight turns in autox. I gotta say I can't fuckin wait to test out this rack and new steering upgrades. Compared to my OEM shitty crap, the sun will be shinin! Having a linear steering rack does slighty make me nervous when I hit the highway though. Hopefully it wont be too sensitive.

to give you a better idea. this is the punch I used first. 1/4" DASCO Pro Grade #8 6series stainless steel pin punch.... and this is after it bent for the 3rd time. After that I bought a 3/8ths in the same grade and series. did the trick after 3 or 4 blows with my sledge.

my washer tank is for sale right now :P What kind of paint are you gonna use?

I still have to do it.
Honestly, not as easy as I was expecting. I used my dremel(as I had expected) and cut the "onlyuseonceOEMbolts" on it. After that, it took my 16" 8lb sledge and the biggest steel punch I could buy(that would fit) to hammer the two out. Held the cast steering link a vice to do it. pain in the ass but if you don't get impatient and use good leverage, it will go more smooth.

So call me crazy but after doing a little cleaning in the engine bay tonight, I think I may get rid of a couple things on the passenger side... IE the mounting points for the washer tank. It needs a respray anyways since the paint has started to chip off near the stock exhaust manifold. I'm thinkin white high heat engine enamel. I can't really do anything with the driver's side right now and I don't feel like pulling the power steering reserve, coolant reserve, abs module, etc... The passenger side would be convenient though! Thoughts?

Good news. I found a guy here in town(Head Solutions) who will lap my valves & ports, deck the head, and hot tank it along with my manifold for less than $200 bucks. not bad! he does head rebuilds fr Dreyer & Reinbold BMW so I'm guessing his work is pretty decent. I'm gonna disassemble the eccentrics and cam soon. can wait to do more! also buying MarkD chip & Bosch 19 injectors from Dixon on here friday. more updates later.

lol thanks man. It feels like a lot of work to me, but compared to some of the guys on here do swaps & what-not, I feel like my build is weak! The AC took no time at all after getting the radiator and clutch fan off. Probably an 1hr max.

This is a HUGE amount of stuff you're doing. Nice work!

About how long did it take you to remove the AC pieces that you did?

Ha, you will certainly get a ride Mister.

Got some stuff finished this weekend despite trying to help my buddy take off his 528e head(which has turned into a nightmare).
    **SIGH**

OK.. Fresh day. Get it started right with some Millstone!!

    Hello pup

First thing for the day, drain the coolant. Apparently the PO didn't whether to put the 'red' shit or the 'green' shit in. Ughhh

Next up. Remove AC & Radiator... BAM!

Core Support Damage from my wreck :(

    Washer Fluid Reserve... BYE

Next, Manifold & T-stat housing... BAM!

    Eww..

Disassemable Manifold/ Fuel Rail & Injectors...

    More Labeling...

Sneak peak at a 'cafe' project I'm working on... ;)

That is all for now. Hoping to have the head, manifold, t-stat housing, & coolant pipe @ the machine shop by friday for hot tank/sonic cleaning.
