    89 325is/now with 24v/project/daily

Picked up my first e30 in November on a trade for my old 90 Jeep Cherokee

I went through that Jeep and replaced almost every bushing, engine sensor, etc.

Anyways, I picked up the e30 with somewhere between 169 and 169k on it.

    When i first got it:

Bought a cd43, since i was not satisfied with the radio in it, a 4 channel amp and a line converter, wired it all up thanks to the very useful diagrams on the forum.

Then I had to get a new sunroof panel and all the tracks since mine were broken. Only problem is it's from bronzit and I have yet to get anything painted.

"Refreshed" the grills and painted the kidneys with some DupliColor Trim Paint.

Also was not satisfied with my wheels after a long cleaning session so decided to repaint them till I decide on what wheels I really want to put on.
(still looking for a 4th hub cap since i only have 3)

The m20 in it is getting pretty tired and burns quite a bit of oil and leaks occasionally so I had been on the look out for something newer.

Finally found the deal that I couldn't pass up. A guy less than 30 minutes away had a 95 325ic that he was parting out. Had the m50 and manual transmission which was perfectly fine for me. Bought what was left of it (which was still alot) and trailered it home. I figured with the parts left on it, I could sell the ones I don't need and hopefully recoup some of my money (or more). Only problem was that the guy still needed the steering rack so I will be on the lookout for one of those.
    Got it home

    In the garage

Pulling engine after finally getting everything necessary unhooked (a little blurry)

    Finally, engine and trans pulled

Thats all I have for now. I will soon be cleaning and refreshing the engine and trans and getting all needed parts to drop it in my car. Next thing to do is get the engine out of my truck bed and get an engine stand to put it on.

Not off the top of my head but I can look at all the documentation tomorrow and find it. And I will keep you in mind when I make up my mind.

Can kinda see it here. Its less than a quarter inch, thats for sure. I plan on flush mounting soon, after i find a way to keep it in place once the lip is cut from the HVAC panel.

            Finally, another update!!!!!!

I got the engine in the basement and on my new stand.

I have been working on it on and off but i graduate in two weeks so I will get to do a lot of work on it.

Then about two weeks ago, I was looking around on bf.c and found a hell of a deal for some parts i needed. Low and behold, about a week later, this box was in my garage...

...and this is what was in it...

All my bottom end parts from an e34.

Took the valve covers off and boy is it clean under there!

Thats about it for now. Hopefully soon I can get a soda blaster so I can do some good cleaning.

Well its been a while since I have posted an update about my car. I recently pulled the M20 after my oil pan got busted and I am finishing getting the M50 ready to swap in. All I have left to do is buy my clutch setup and get the harness converted and a little bit of basic maintenance. I think I will be taking the harness over to Markert Motor Works in Lawrenceville because of all the great reviews I have heard. On another note, I picked up an excellent set of 16x8 Style 5s today, any recommendations on spacers, tires, or anything else to do with them? Pics to come soon.

I am gonna be pretty disappointed if you don't do one of my subwoofers, that car is going to be pretty and should sound killer, not just adequate.

BTW: see if you can swap into an LC8i so you can get the excellent volume control and way better sound from your aux source

I am definitely gonna be picking up one of your boxes very soon, probably a 10. I was also thinking of dropping the cd43 and getting a different headunit that is ipod compatible and has a little bit more features. Also, I think I'm experiencing some battery drain somewhere and I suspect it might be my amp or my LC6i but I'm not quite sure. I will see what I can do about that LC8i too.

unplug that audiocontrol overnight, see if stuff changes. It may be seeing a pulse that is turning it on or something.
