A dirt cheap 318 I could not resist...

The car is an 84 318 5 speed with the m10 in it. So far I see no rust except for in trunk on drivers side. It has a blown motor perfect for s50 swap... And it has been repainted black over the original delphin. I am gonna be parting out all interior and drivetrain. Then get a macco paint job and make it a track car. S50 zf tranny on the way. As soon as my vert gets done I'm gonna start on this...I have been looking for a 318 for awhile now to turn into a track car. Today I found one in my price range. So I went and picked it up. While I was there I got offered another 318 so I am picking that one up tomorrow. I had no plans of buying any cars at all and was looking for a e34 wagon when I came across an ad I could not resist. What is it about these cars that are so addictive? heres the only pics I have it is pouring down...

    Rolling down the mountain...

    Arriving at it's new home...

Kind of off-topic, but would 1k be too much for one of these? It's not in as good of shape but it runs and I'm thinking around 100k miles. I'm not familiar with the m10 and if I got it, would it make more sense to swap an m20? BTW, already did an m50 swap and don't have money or time to do something like that again.

Depends on the condition of the engine. I bought my 318 not running for 500$ and have since spent about 400 to get it running. If the suspension will hold for a while and engine idles and runs good(smogs). Then 1k is worth it.

what happened to the m50 car? my whole purpose was to buy this and keep it light since it is the lightest e30... So by me putting in a different engine trans diff and rear axle I may be up to the 300+ pounds that the other e30s weigh. then with a gutted interior trunk etc I should still be pretty light... For me it is gonna be a race car not a daily. however these engines are very good from what I read but I know there are alot more m20's m50's around to get parts from. but if you buy it and need parts let me know I have 2 m10 318''s now...
