I would have too, but for the money I'm paying for the paint job and body work I'm not going to complain. Especially considering the quality of paint he's using.

I'm looking forward to seeing it done too. The closer it gets the more anxious I get.

Done. I pick it up tomorrow. Total cost of body work, paint, including jams = $1050. Paint used is PPG.

Spent yesterday replacing the steering rack, control arms, CABs, motor mounts, and oil pan gasket.

Pretty easy job. Only thing that slowed me down was waiting for the UPS man to drop off the CABs.

I figured since I was doing all that stuff it would be easiest to drop the subframe. Good idea. Made everything easy to get to.

Unfortunately on the way to my parents' place to do the work a tire kicked up from a truck in front and took out my valance.

I'll find a replacement sooner or later though.

During the job found that the motor mounts were toast, ball joints and tie rods had torn boots and some were binding, and the oil pan gasket was non-existent. It had been replaced with RTV. Didn't leak, but figured since I had access I might as well do it. Glad I did.

The manual steering rack feels much nicer and the engine bay looks a lot better without the power steering crap in the way.

Looks great, I would personally keep it. Just needs a bumper tuck or euros 1+ on the latter. And some sexy wheels and stance =)

                        I love it though!

Well the front valance was taken out by a chunk of tire tread the other day and it just frustrated the hell out of me.

So its now gone and replaced with an 06 Mini Cooper S.

I'll miss it, but the Mini is nicer.
