    '91 325 build thread

picked up the car 2 or so months ago and been getting it ready ever since. The mechanical work is done for the most part. Here's a list of most of the parts i've replaced so far

    rear brake discs
    rear brake pads
    water pump
    thermostat
    fan clutch
    oil pan gasket
    valve cover gasket
    crankshaft front oil seal
    camshaft rear oil seal
    transmission front oil seal
    transmission rear oil seal
    rear differential gasket set
    steering reservoir
    all power steering hoses
    front sway bar end links
    rear sway bar end links
    all belts
    oil cooler supply hose
    oil cooler return hose
    front wheel bearings
    fuel pressure regulator
    all vacuum hoses
    tie rods
    control arms
    polyurethane offset control arm bushings
    door gaskets
    ac compressor
    ebay ie replica exhaust
    ebay headers
    magnaflow high flow cat
new style 5 center caps all around

it's at the body shop getting a respray (full diamond schwartz; no more of that two tone japanese spec stuff), rear spoiler delete, fenders rolled and the style 5's refinished now. Once it's done i'll install the remainig parts i have lying around; h&r race springs, bilstein shocks, h&r sway bars, toyo r-888 tires, sparco seats/harnesses and it will be almost ready to try out on a light track session. If anybody has recommendations for dedicated track pads please do share. Here are the pics of when i first got it and some shots from the body shop. will try to update as things move forward. apologies for the very low res pics

Very nice work man! Style 5's are always a win on E30's

thanks guys; for now i'm planning to run the car with the m20 until i get to the stage where the power is the limiting factor as opposed to my driving skills. I prefer to build up the car as needed as opposed to building something beyond my skill level. perhaps in the future i'll throw in the s52 from my M coupe and swap an s50b32 into the m coupe; we'll see what happens.
