Pulled out the correct one and swapped it over.

I was just curious as to whether there was any truth to what he was saying, obviously not.

Eventually it will be turbocharged, which should be a good bit of fun!

It is running, now I have to figure out why my brand new thermostat wont open...

All I have left is to put in the radiator, fill it, adjust the alternator tension, put in the air box and reconnect the exhaust!

They have said on several occasions that the H&R sports are too soft for the amount they lower the car. This car is destined to be a street/track car at some point. I want the great handling of an ix. Basically the BMW version of the EVO and STI.

I wouldn't run coilovers on an IX - too stiff. The great AWD ability that an IX has is partly due to the suspension being flexible enough to travel over changing terrain.

If you want to lower it, I'd get the H&R Sport's that are specifically for IX's. They'll lower it somewhat, but will remain supple enough to maintain that awesome AWD ability.

Update!

I got all of my leaks fixed. I also painted the intake manifold in a crinkle black. After all of the maintenance I did a few months ago I am back at it again.

New stuff:
radiator & fluid
new upper hose, my old one was almost worn through from the fan
t-belt & tensioner
t-stat
water pump
valve cover gasket, the valve cover will be painted crinkle red
head gasket
Big shout out to Blunt for hooking me up with great prices on parts!

I am in the process of installing those parts right now. While everything was apart, I decided to remove the power steering and a/c. Who wants 'em?



I also got a roof rack consisting of yakima Q towers and crossbars, a small fairing, a snowboard rack and a bike rack painted bright green by your truly. It will prolly be painted red soon.
